"Asteroid day" at the City of Science in Tunis
(TFS) - On the occasion
of the World Asteroids Day, the City of Science Planetarium in Tunis is
organizing on 30 June 2017, an exposition under the theme “Asteroid Day”, in order
to share, communicate and inform the Tunisian public on all the subjects
related to asteroids: definitions, orbits, collisions etc.
The program
consists of two planetarium sessions (11h and 12.30), each with a 30-minute
presentation on asteroids and an 8-minute mini-show on ‘Astronaut Impact and
deflection Assessment’ (AIDA) realized by the European Space Agency. (ESA:
French/ English).
It is noted that
on December 7th, 2016 the United Nations officially recognized the
annual and international "Asteroid Day" event that will take place on
30 June of each year, in order to mark the greatest impact in the world recent
history, on Earth, the Tunguska event in Siberia, which devastated a forest of
more than 1200 square kilometres.
