City of Science to host technological performance “Metal Creature” on February 3
(TFS) - The Tunis City of Science is organising next February 3 a dynamic technological performance with an industrial robot programmed by Nicolas Gossart and Bertrand Manuel. The robotic and poetic show will take place in Ibn Khaldoun auditorium starting from 3 pm.
The show, directed by Denise Namura, Michael Bugdhan and Emmanuel Aubibert, will be performed by Sophie Colin, Bertrand Manuel and a robot.
“Despite its appearance, this atypical character (programmed robot) presented in the form of a manipulated steel creature comes to life seduces us, moves us and questions us,” said a brief note introducing the performance.
It is indeed a hilarious, simple and disturbing tragi-comic story, added the same source.
This show with a philosophical narrative challenges, jostles, and questions: can a Robot have emotions? Can it scare us? How far can it go? How far can it look like us? Who is he? What do we know about him? Where is he from? Where does it stand in our society today? What do we know about robotics today?
