City of Science to host scientific lecture entitled “Children and the Screen”
(TFS) - The City of Science in
Tunis will host a scientific lecture on June 20, 2018.
The awareness-raising
lecture entitled "Children and the Screen" will be given by Dr. Sami
Osman, a specialist in pediatric psychiatry.
The lecturer will
discuss the impact of child addiction to the screens on their psychological
health, its implications for their mental development, and ways to treat this
addiction.
What impact do screens
have in case of misuse on the cognitive and psychological development of our
children?
This issue, which is of growing concern to
parents, is now debated in societies, especially in the light of recent
research in child psychiatry and neuroscience.
TV screens, computer
screens, tablets or smartphones, when used excessively expose children to major
risks such as those related to weight gain, language delay, and attention
deficit.
How can we fight these risks and prevent our
children from this new form of addiction in modern times?
